From Dream to Reality

Starting a business is really damn difficult. 

Some people are serial entrepreneurs, starting business after busness never really wed to any of them. Drivien more by the game than by passion. Some of us just feel compelled to follow a passion. An idea that is rooted deeply in personal curiosity and a mission. Basically creating the business that you wish existed. CHOSEN is that for me. 

CHOSEN was born out of my love for suiting. Most people who wear suits have done it because they had to, not because they want to and as soon as 5pm hits they can’t wait the loosen that tie and slip into something more casual. For me I couldn’t wait for an excuse to put that suit on (Tie or no tie). I loved that way it made me look. I loved the way it made me feel and as I became more invested in my suiting wardrobe and began to look neat in custom suits those effects became even more vivid. 

Many find suits uncomfortable, my guess they’ve nerver worn one that was made specifically to fit their body. Their every nook and curve. Made to hide their flaws and accentuate their assets. A good suit is gracefull and moves with you and frankly I still love wearing them. 

It’s ironic. The idea of the suit comes from the concept of uniformity and making everyone look more of less the same. Creating anonymity among a population. In the west they find their origins in the military. There you are a piece of a unit. A cell in a finely tuned organism. But somewhere along the way things got reversed. Now its the person in the suit stands out… at least they do if it’s a good one. If you’re in a bad suit you will likely either disappear in the sea of careless conformists or stand out for all the wrong reasons. 

It was also a symbol of pride. A soildier would take pride in their uniform because that showed pride in the fellow soilder, in their allegences and in themselves. When they werent wearing it they wouldnt just toss it over a peice of furniture, they would smooth it out, brush it, air it out and  hang it up. They would make sure it was pressed before wearing.  

A suit is like a blank canvas. It is an incredibly creative medium to express yourself. Different fibers, fabrics, finishes, weaves, textures. Different patterns, colours, silohettes and so on. Everything taken in to account down to th finest details. 

CHOSEN is all about looking great because you know you’re worth it. It’s a display of pride in your appearance. I always felt like most suits were for people who had to wear one and there was not much out there for those of us who wanted to wear suits. We want lots of options. We want the only limit to be our imaginations. That is what we’ve created. Here we have a template but the real possibilities rest in you!
